My intent is to send out periodic updates - for those I speak with regularly & for those I don't get to visit with nearly enough - want to keep you informed.
As you know, I am serving at Inspire Women as a Sold Out Single. 2 things I never intended to be, single at my age & serving in full-time ministry. Pretty humorous and yet fashioned by God.
I am going to recap some of the highlights so far this year:
January 1st marked the first day of living on your support. This has been a big faith stretch for me - so amazing to see Him love me through His people (YOU). He doesn't lie when He says He will provide if we seek His kingdom first (Matt. 6:33). Thank you for being the face behind His provision!!!
I really thought raising my own support would be the "challenge of the year" and it was, UNTIL last month. I found out that the apartment I've been living in (at no cost) had been revoked. The donor who gave us the apartment is very old and in light of personal needs he is no longer able to support the apartment. Just another opportunity for me to trust. This time with my shelter...Matt 6:25-34 comes to life once again. Many options were thrown around and it was decided that I would move in with an older Colombian woman who speaks little English. I made peace with this Odd Couple arrangement just in time for God to provide a different opportunity. My friend Tone (pronounced Toni), a precious woman I met last fall through Inspire, just purchased a wonderful 2 bedroom townhouse & graciously & generously invited me to be her roommate (at no cost). I will be moving out at the end of next month. Very excited about this!
I am currently taking a class at Dallas Theological Seminary's Houston Extension campus entitled Leading in Worship. I thought this would be geared towards musicians & worship leaders but I realized pretty quickly I was mistaken. I am in fact not only the only female in the class but also the only one with a musical bent. The others are either pastors or on their way to becoming...The class focuses on all the elements of the worship service (sermon, communion, dedication, baptism, praise & worship etc.). It is proving to be a wonderful learning experience.
I am also seeing a voice coach twice a month to steward & stretch my music and speaking skills. Inspire is paying for this privilege as a part of my leadership training. As God is developing and preparing me, He is opening doors for me to minister through speaking & song. I had the opportunity to sing & speak at an Inspire event last month and next month (April 18th) I will be leading two workshops at a ladies retreat through a local church. My message these days is on surrender - something He is currently working out in me. I covet your prayer support concerning this event.
Thank you for loving me and walking alongside me.
I will keep you posted in the coming days.
I really love you and am so extremely grateful for you,
taylor

p.s. the pic was taken at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I LOVE the Rodeo and thanks to my friends Amie, Brooke & Jack (who serve on rodeo committees), I have enjoyed many nights of free concerts & dancing!!
